Renovating one of the oldest residences in Laguna Beach poses some unique challenges. That’s why our client turned to the experts at James David Custom Homes to transform his historic property into a home reminiscent of a 16th century European villa. Our team worked closely with the City of Laguna Beach’s Design Review Board during construction, obtaining their approval before every step in the process. As always, we did whatever was necessary to accommodate our client’s needs, including consulting with him via Skype while he was out of state during the renovation. Per his request, rather than leveling the original structure before building the addition, we followed the house’s original lines to ensure the entire home had a handcrafted, old-world feel when the project was complete.

  • Custom wooden stained-glass windows and doors
  • Handmade cabinets with unique details and finishes throughout

  • High-end designer finishes throughout (wallpaper, furniture, light fixtures, blinds, countertops, appliances)

Exterior Features:

  • Custom hardscaping featuring handmade waterfalls and fireplaces
