Silverado Canyon Custom Home Build Part 2

Welcome back to the James David Custom Homes video series, where we invite you on an extraordinary journey through our expansive hillside project in Silverado Canyon. Join us for the second installment of our breathtaking drone-only video tour, showcasing the remarkable progress on this 20-acre property, where we’re building a stunning 6500 square foot luxury home nestled into the picturesque Silverado Canyon Nature Preserve.

In our previous video, we delved into the intricacies of sustainable construction and preservation of the landscape, from a 50-yard long driveway with retaining walls to the strategic placement of 10,000-gallon water tanks. Now, witness the latest developments, including the completion of a monumental 250-foot long Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) retaining wall that serves as a crucial foundation for the driveway.

Building on a hillside presents unique challenges and opportunities, and our dedicated team is up for the task. They are now working on a second 110-foot MSE wall, meticulously laying crushed rock and expertly compacting it for stability and drainage. Discover the engineering marvel of 6 caissons, each 20 feet deep, providing robust support for a grade beam and a durable Concrete Masonry Unit (CMU) retaining wall.

But that’s not all! Prepare to be amazed by our plans for a poured-in-place wall, seamlessly integrating with three different types of retaining walls, creating an unparalleled foundation that harmoniously blends with the surrounding landscape.

At James David Custom Homes, we’re passionate about construction and preserving nature’s beauty, and this project embodies both. If you’re ready to bring your dream of luxury living on a hillside to life with innovation, craftsmanship, and timeless beauty, contact us today to make your vision a reality.
