Part 4: Truss Installation – James David Custom Homes – Coeur d’Alene Idaho

As you know (from the first three videos), we have already laid the foundation, stood up the exterior walls, and raised the roof. Join us today as we are craning in vintage timbers.

Today the team is ready to crane in distressed reclaimed timbers for the foyer, great room, and master bedroom. When selecting materials we worked exclusively with Vintage Timberworks because we wanted the very best and they have been the premier source of antique timbers, reclaimed wood, planking, and flooring for over 25 years. The timbers for this home have been repurposed from two hundred and fifty year old barns and were especially chosen to give the space a warm rustic feel.

These distressed reclaimed timbers weigh two thousand pounds and require a five thousand pound crane to set them into place. As we strategically install each piece of lumber in the foyer, great room, and master bedroom the crane needs to be precisely accurate with placement – operating from up to seventy five feet away.
